Tara and Chris: Adventure Waterfall Wedding

Hidden Valley, Belize

When you have a couple that is up for a 30 minute jungle hike in order to wed at one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Belize, you know you are in for a treat! Butterfly Falls is located on the property of one of our favourite hotels, Hidden Valley Inn. The Inn only has 12 rooms situated on 7200 acres of private forest reserve. The Inn is accessible only by a dirt road, 45 minutes from the main road…which was perfect for a group wanting something different and unique!

The day began with the group gathering, and beginning their hike into the jungle followed by their planner and photographer. Once they reached the sparkling clear falls, a portable changing tent was set-up, and everyone got ready for the ceremony. The Justice of the Peace gave a heartwarming custom ceremony, that didn’t leave a dry eye in the house. Sounds of rushing water, and droplets from the falls accented the vows, and after the kiss…was a dramatic dip.

After lots of photos, the group changed into swimming attire and jumped into the crystal clear pool surrounded by the lush forest. Once everyone had cooled down and hiked out, they were met with a van that took them to a private picnic area. A huge spread including fried chicken, local salads, and lots of dessert greeted the guests, and the day ended with chocolate cake!
