You know a couple has a heart for adventure when they decide to tie the knot at a Maya Ruin! Many of our couples choose this venue for their ceremony, but Sabrina and Brent went a little further and invited their friends and family to join!
To start off the party, they hosted a local BBQ dinner at Trey's Barn in Grill located in the Cayo district. This is one of our favorite inland venues. Imagine a beautiful converted barn, nestled in the rainforest with lots of small details and the most welcoming couple running the show. The Belizean chef, Trey, has won numerous BBQ competitions, and is a master behind his grill. His lovely wife, Ari, is a Cuban who puts her touch on handcrafted cocktails, and making the restaurant beautiful.
The following day, it was time for the main attraction! The beautiful bride had her hair and makeup done, before getting dressed. The first look took place right at Ka'ana hotel, and the couple was able to share a special moment before they joined with friends and family at the ruin. Once ready, the group headed to Xunantunich to officially tie the knot. After a sweet ceremony, guests enjoyed a guided tour of the ancient ruin and the couple took some beautiful shots around the property.
The reception included a 3-piece band, and lots of yummy dishes and culinary delights from the Ka'ana team. Tables were adorned with floating orchids, candles and delicate details. The end of the evening concluded with a decadent dessert table and lots of good memories.
