About Signature Belize Weddings

What makes us different?

RACHAEL: OWNER & LEAD PLANNER

Planning the perfect wedding requires an eye for detail and passion for perfection. Getting to know you and understanding your dream gives me the paint to turn your wedding canvas into a work of art.

Every planner approaches a wedding differently. By customizing every wedding I work on to suit the couple’s expectations and budget, that special day turns into the fairy tale destination wedding in Belize or Mexico that you’ve always dreamed of!

Originally from Denver, I moved to Belize in 2012 and have always had a romantic passion for weddings. In my early years, I was lucky enough to have worked in many different areas of the wedding industry, doing everything from catering to decoration, while even trying my hand at cake baking. The corporate world eventually grabbed hold of me and I spent my last years in the US working for a variety of big corporations before making the move to Belize. Tying all this experience together is what has turned me into the detail oriented, and precisely organized Belize wedding planner and Mexico wedding planner I am today.

By combining my knack for organizing and executing events with my creative Do-It-Yourself talents, I was destined for the wedding planning career. Signature Weddings will be there to assist with every aspect of your wedding starting with the ever difficult venue decision, right down to the seating arrangements, culminating in a one-of-a-kind event… Your Signature Wedding. Allow our staff to take on the hard work while you soak up the Caribbean and warm hospitality. I can’t wait to turn your dream Belize wedding or Mexico wedding into a reality, and become the perfect Belize Wedding Planner or Mexico Wedding Planner for your special event!!

Tanya: Assistant Planner

Background:
I am from the southern most part of the country where there’s a mix of Maya, Garifuna and East Indian communities mostly. I guess that’s where my love for other cultures came from. Perhaps it’s the mix of cultures in my family. I have ancestors from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Germany, Middle East, India and I also have some Maya in me.

I graduated from the Faculty of Nursing, Social Work and Allied Health at the University of Belize. I have a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree and most of my experience have been in the medical field however, sometimes one can have a love for more than one career.

I love wedding planning because I get to be part of a team that creates precious memories that will last a lifetime for others, I get to meet people from different cultures and I get to make someone’s dream wedding come true.

One of my favorite part of the wedding is when the bride and groom say their vows, especially when it’s their personal vows. The love they have for each other becomes so evident. I sometimes tear up.

My favorite wedding venue is the Sandbar in San Pedro. There is no need for any additional decor as the view is just beautiful! It’s quiet, there’s privacy and the sunsets are BEAUTIFUL!

Advice to a new bride:
My advice to a new bride is, although it may seem like everything seems chaotic and you feel stressed during the wedding planning, just remember what matters: your marriage.

Luis: Associate Planner

Luis joined Signature Belize after 10 years in the graphic design industry. His creativity and knack for design makes him an amazing wedding planner. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from University of Louisiana.

Why did you decide to get into event planning?
Being able to bring someone’s ideas to life in a creative and fun way has always given me a great sense of satisfactions and accomplishment.
Making people’s visions a reality in a colorful, creative, fun, funky, exciting way, with a special signature “wow factor”, is what I smile for. Therefore, with this in mind, event planning is, to me, the perfect platform; the perfect medium to continue fulfilling my smiling habit 🙂

What are you really passionate about?
My passion lies within my mind, my head, which is making things appealing and eye popping through visual concepts. I am passionate about creativity and that sense of satisfactory accomplishments.

What is your favorite part of a wedding?
The reaction on the groom’s face while watching his bride walk down the aisle is a must for me. That moment coupled with the moment when the newly weds walk into the reception hall and see their guests and their beautiful reception décor are my favorite part of a wedding.

"Michelle and I were wanting a non traditional wedding. The wedding day was exactly what we hoped for. The service and extras that Rachael planned in that we had not even thought of made the whole week perfect."
