Corinna & Michael and Franziska & Steffen: (t)Winning In The Caribbean Sea!

Yes, you are seeing DOUBLE! From the very first day the phone call came in till the last boat ride back to their resort after their wedding ceremony, the excitement was non-stop. We were so elated and overjoyed to have been asked to do, not one sandbar elopement but, a double sandbar elopement. The happy couples were a set of brother and sister identical twins each marrying their best friends. We had the perfect elopement suggestion for them, a beautiful and sunny sandbar wedding elopement.

The day began a little wet but as we made our way over to the alluring little island of San Pedro, Ambergris Caye the sun started to peek its rays out from behind the clouds to an eventual blanket of sunny grandeur… just what we needed! Upon arriving on the island, our awesome photographer was already waiting for us so we all headed to our boat captain’s dock for another short 5 minutes ride over to meet the couples for the first time at their resort. The twins’ were happily awaiting our arrival. We were greeted by bright smiles and happy cheers. The double date was about to become a legal reality.

First up, hair and makeup! Our talented and professional makeup artist was right on schedule and our brides couldn’t wait to get their glam started. The photographer started her day as well about 30 minutes into makeup capturing every reaction… laughter, smiles, funny faces and lots of cheers. As the grooms relaxed outside on their villa’s balcony having some drinks we quickly checked in with our vendors and we were ready for a fun and fabulous day. The brides were ready and the grooms were having a little too much fun and had to scurry on into their rooms for a quick change off into their handsome blue suits. First look photos brought happy tears all around as the grooms saw their brides in their beautiful white dresses for the first time.

Off we went as we all boarded our boat with cake, flowers, champagne and refreshments. Our fun and entertaining boat captain took us on a 20 minutes scenic boat ride through the pristine lagoon waters and on to our ceremony destination, the beautiful and private sandbar. After passing a pristine salt water corridor with chirping birds and colorful iguanas nestled on vibrant green mangroves, a short stop was made to pick up our Justice of the Peace/officiant who would make these couples happily wed.

Approaching the sandbar the day was becoming a fast reality and the low tide made it possible for the excited couples to see the white sandy sandbar peering out the clear blue/green waters. It was picturesque and the couples were delighted, thrilled and could not wait to jump out the boat and get their feet wet and sandy. Shoes came off and it was time for our first double wedding ceremony. Beautiful words of wisdom by our officiant and personal vows and lifelong promises by each couple concluded an intimate ceremony. Champagne was shaken, popped and poured and the merriment began. A delicious red velvet cake was sliced and shared with everyone there and the photographer made sure all these lifelong memories were captured amidst the gorgeous Caribbean Sea and glittery blues skies. Happy smiles and laughter were in abundance… the twins were winning on their special day!
