Nicole and Adam: Cruise Ship Beach/Maya Ruin Wedding

Altun Ha

Cruise ship weddings are especially fun for our team! Not only do we get to marry a couple in one-day, but we get to give the couple and their guests a glimpse into our beautiful country. Usually couple’s choose between a beach or jungle wedding, but Nicole and Adam wanted to do both.

In order to maximize their limited schedule in port, we decided to do the ceremony at a local Belize City beach and then whisk the couple away to the ruins for a photo shoot right after the ceremony. The amazing Jose Luis Zapata was up for the challenge, and delivered a beautiful mix of photos that captures so much of our country.

Once in port, after meeting her planners, Nicole went to get her hair and makeup done in the city, while her guests went to the ceremony site. The ceremony was held at a beautiful white beach, just 20 minutes from the cruise ship port. A mix of modern and classical music on violin was performed, and before long Nicole arrived on-site. After a beautiful ceremony, the couple cut the cake and toasted with champagne. When they left for the Maya ruins, the rest of the guests enjoyed lunch and relaxed before heading back to port.

Unlike other Caribbean countries, couples are able to legally get married while in port! We do all the paperwork, and all you have to do is file the paperwork once you arrive back in the US.
