Michael and Taeko: Reef Wedding

Caye Caulker, Belize

Weddings are all about special moments, and sharing those special moments with friends and family. This fab couple’s friends and his family lives in the US, and the bride’s family lives in Belize. They were stumped on how to have a fun and tropical wedding that everyone could attend.

The solution… a cruise! The couple, along with family and friends from the US, took a cruise that stopped for the day in Belize. Their family in Belize joined them for the ultimate daytime beach party!

Once in Belize, all the guests boarded a private charter boat, and set sail for Caye Caulker with local appetizers and drinks on board.

At the beginning of the day, the weather took a turn for the worst, and we were worried about the ‘toes in the sand’ wedding the bride had dreamed about. With amazing energy and vibes from the couple, the skies cleared and the ceremony was able to continue on the beach in front of the property.
Due to the weather, we moved the reception under cover… but that did not stop the party. Guests enjoyed delicious beach BBQ from the amazing Chef Kuylen, and local sounds from DJ DZL. After a few hours of local beer and rum punch, food, and dancing they boarded the boat and set-sail back to their cruise ship.

Most couples never think of a day wedding, but this wedding was an amazing beach party that makes us rethink the perfect ‘time’ for a wedding.
