Rustic Jungle and Tropical Beach Ceremony in Altun Ha and Caye Caulker: Lindsay and John

Caye Caulker, Belize

Spring is a timeless symbol of growth and abundance, gracing us with lush vibrant blooms and striking greenery. Lindsay and John tied the knot in the month of April, celebrating their love in the early days of spring. Between shimmering turquoise waters and ancient rainforest canopies, Belize has it all – so how do you choose? Well, what if we told you that you could do both?! The bride and groom’s vision of a day-lit rainforest ceremony to a moon-lit seashore rendezvous was flawlessly brought to life, and truly captured the essence of both worlds.

The excitement in the air is always tangible when the big day arrives. After the sun rose over Caye Caulker’s soft, glimmering waters, the party boarded a private water taxi that took them to the coastal city shores. Lindsay and her fabulous bridal party spent the morning prepping and priming at Couter Cher Salon and Cosmetics – a darling studio dedicated to top quality full-gam makeovers. Lindsay’s gown was elegant, classic, and dramatic, with romantic lace around the deep-v neckline. With an elegant bun fastened with a diamond head piece, and a silk-textured Lili blooming from the centre of her bouquet, Lindsay’s look was a seamless blend of modern meets timeless. The bridesmaids wore rich, royal blue dresses adorned with bouquets of crimson red blooms and broad leaved palms. The groom blended effortlessly with the warm earth tones surrounding, dressed in a light brown tux and soft pink bloom over the chest. After the final touches, a cozy, private bus drove the wedding party down the winding jungle roads to Lindsay and John’s first wedding destination.

The mysterious and intricate temples of Altun Ha create an otherworldly backdrop for a kiss that’s worth a lifetime. Before the ceremony, the wedding party took some time discovering the riveting history of the archeological site, creating a deeper sense of magic and significance throughout the day. As the sun filled the artwork embroidered in the archaic stone and reflected off the fields, we made sure the guests stayed cool and content with either a wicker fan or umbrella in one hand and a chilled local beer in the other. Lindsay’s dress whirled over the juniper-green grass as she waltzed towards the love of her life for a heartfelt “I do.” The muted blue sky and sage hues of the surrounding flora created an ethereal vibe for their late-afternoon photoshoots. From sky-high panoramic views to deep-jungle embraces, LMP Studios captured every moment beautifully. As the sun sunk further into the sky, the wedding party began their journey back to the sandy shores of Caye Caulker for an epic reception.

Lindsay and John selected a vibrant, tropical colour palette to set the tone for an evening brimming with laughter, music, and intimacy. The tables were adorned with dark blue linens with striking floral arrangements blooming from the centre. The bride and groom brought the jungle to the beach with an abundance of palm leaves and exotic blooms woven over the table, and not to mention a table entirely dedicated to a classic-style wedding cake tinted with warm browns and soft golds. Our chefs provided a diverse local feast, including fresh grilled fish and garden vegetables, gourmet salads, spicy salsas, and local tamales. From sandy dance floors, to over-the-water hammock breaks, to late night ocean dips, the rest of the night was an absolute blast. Cheers to Lindsay and John!
